Polyoxometalate or known as POM is a subset of metal oxides. It is a representation of a miscellaneous range of molecular cluster with which rarely matched range of physical characteristics. It has the ability to form dynamic structures which can up to the size from nano to micrometer scale. Because of its characteristics, POM often becomes a really good target for catalysis. Because POMs are anions, their counteractions are able to be exchanged by metathesis reactions. ‘
Besides that characteristic, POMs are synced with another property and many compounds. POMs are often self-collected structure in a particular pH. It makes it possible to form compound molecules in one synthetic way. Another characteristic of POM is that its charged oxygen which is charged negatively is polarized to the positive tungsten atoms to the inside of the structure. Thus, it makes the oxygen inert and makes the oxygen atoms opposed to acid or even basic corrosion.
Another characteristic is that POMs have electric characteristic. The transition of metal gives it weak electrons which can be moved to other reduction. And, POMs are able to absorb and make the electron stabilized from substrate state to oxidation response before make it low to energy condition.
